Christiane Helling
I did my PhD at the Technical University in Berlin, Germany, after a period at the Niels-Bohr institute of the University Copenhagen , Denmark. This time was devoted to work on molecular opacities for AGB star atmospheres and winds. It followed a postdoctoral period in a special research project linking researchers interested in analyses, numerics and modelling of conservation equations (DFG-Schwerpunkt ANUME). This was when I studied the interaction between turbulence and dust formation bridging between the Center of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the TU Berlin and the Konrad-Zuse-Institut Berlin . I moved on working at the Sterrewacht Leiden and as a research fellow at ESTEC of the European Space Agency in The Netherlands . Eventually, I moved on to Scotland as SUPA Advanced Research fellow at the University of St Andrews getting step by step into astrobiology.
